Actor Madhavan is known to share several interesting posts on Instagram. Recently, the 3 Idiots star shared a post on the most “torturous and cruel” game. And it’s not football or wrestling, but… golf! The actor shared a clip of golf expert and podcaster Dan Rapaport explaining what makes golf so torturous and cruel. He claimed that golf doesn’t care who you are and what you have accomplished.

“It is the ultimate what you have done for me lately,” business. He shared the story of professional golfer Brooks Koepka. He was a golfing superhero. In the past, he held the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. Koepka has five major titles under his belt. Fast forward half a decade, and he failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He also shared a clip of the golfing champion admitting he was “pretty disappointed,” that he couldn’t get through. “Zero top 10s in basically two years,” he stated. He added that he felt like going home and reevaluating everything.

Rapaport also shared the story of Jordan Spieth, calling him the “golden child with three majors and 11 PGA Tour wins before his 24th birthday.” However, he didn’t have a single top 10 in 21 starts this season.


Sharing the anecdotes, Rapaport advised golf enthusiasts to go easy on themselves. Enjoy the struggles. He said that if you are not playing for your livelihood, don’t be so focused on winning and find beauty in the process. He then joked that golf lovers do not adore this game because it is easy – if you are looking for an easy choice, pickleball, he joked. He explained that the charm of golf lies in the fact that it can never be quite mastered, even by the so-called champions who have achieved global records.

“One day, you can feel on top of the world; the next day, you feel lower than low," he said. He concluded that doing hard things just for the sake of it is good for us, as it makes us exercise our cognitive facilities, and golf is a fine example of that.
