Noise Shots review: Long battery life, loud audio output make it a good buy for Rs 5K

True wireless headphones are all the rage this year with more and more brand launching entering this category. The trouble is that it still costs at least Rs 5,000 to get a good pair of true wireless headphones. GoNoise’s latest offering, Noise Shots are among the first few to offer true wireless headphones at sub Rs 5k.

Like all other true wireless headphones, the Noise shots also come with individual earbuds and a charging case. What we liked about the earbuds is that they are a secure fit — you don’t have to worry about them falling out during a work-out. Plus, they are comfortable to wear for long hours. There is large button with an indicator LED on each earbud — the button are for power and pairing only, you don’t get volume controls. Charging case is a long rectangular box with a pull-out tab on one side — the pull out tab open the case like a filing cabinet drawer. Inside the drawer are two slots to place the earbuds. The good thing is that the buds attach to the slots magnetically for charging — you don’t have to worry about precise placement.


On the outside of the case is a small LED light that works as a charging level indicator. Note that these are also IPX4 certified so you don’t have to worry about damage from sweat and water splashes. Audio quality from the Noise Shots is good on most parts. The volume is loud and we never felt the need to go above 75% volume. That being said, at anything over 80% volume, the output gets muddled. As long as you are under 75% volume, the headphones deliver good clarity and balanced sound. However, it’s not very bass heavy — if you are into EDM and dance music with deep bass, these are not for you. Another good thing is that they provide a good amount of passive noise cancellation during usage.

Some of the things we did not like on the Noise Shots include the irritating pairing process (you have to press buttons on both earbuds to pair) and the sub-par microphone (during voice calls people complained of low sound). Also, these also suffer from video and audio sync issue while playing videos via streaming apps — a common issue on a lot of true wireless headphones. Battery life is good—- we managed to get over 2 hours per charge from the earbuds and a combined 10 hours with the case. Overall, a good value for money offering for anyone who wants to try true wireless headphones.
