No sugar, no rice. John Abraham reveals how his vegetarian diet helps him have fabulous body at 53: 'I have 51...'
John Abraham is above 50, but still his fitness is nothing short of impeccable. The Dhoom star had revealed in several interviews that he follows a mostly vegetarian diet to keep fit and he does not rely on meat to meet his nutritional demands.

Speaking during a conversation with Ranveer Allahabadia, the actor explained that his daily meals are largely vegetarian, though he occasionally includes eggs as part of his nutrition plan. Recalling the preparation for his action film Force, he shared that his diet at the time involved consuming as many as 51 egg whites in a day to meet the protein requirements needed for the physically demanding role. He also revealed that his carbohydrate intake was carefully measured at around 160 grams daily, while his fat intake remained relatively high at approximately 65 grams to support energy levels and overall performance.
In a separate discussion with Dr. Preity Parekh, Abraham offered additional insights into his carefully planned meal routine. He said that while maintaining a body weight of about 95 kilograms, he aimed to consume roughly 200 grams of protein every day. His regular diet included between 10 and 15 egg whites along with two whole egg yolks. On certain days, he also added around 180 grams of fish to his meals. Beyond animal-based protein, he relied heavily on plant-based sources such as tofu, paneer, sprouted moong, and a variety of legumes. His meals also featured nutrient-rich foods including avocados, oatmeal, brown rice, and other wholesome ingredients that provided sustained energy and essential nutrients. Protein supplements were used only during periods of intense training rather than as a permanent part of his routine.
Senior journalist Oswald Pereira has also highlighted Abraham's remarkable dietary discipline. According to Pereira, the actor has completely avoided refined sugar for nearly 25 years and has stayed away from rice for approximately six years. His long-term commitment to clean eating, balanced nutrition, and disciplined lifestyle choices has played a significant role in helping him remain one of Bollywood's fittest actors well into his fifties.
