No show by Shashi Tharoor?

A year gone by… and yet it seems as if little has changed. In January last year, Shashi Tharoor was set to wax eloquent at a session for the Jaipur Literary Festival and release Salman Khurshid’s wife Louise’s book Travails with Chachi, when he hastily cancelled his visit, just a day before his wife died. During a musical night at JLF, guests were aghast to hear news filtering in of Sunanda’s unexplained death.

This year, Tharoor was slotted to discuss his 15th book India Shastra on January 23, but the growing whispers are that he may not show for his session, or the festival at all. The Congress MP was grilled for four hours on January 19 by the Delhi Police over his wife’s death under mysterious circumstances, and the cops have not ruled out a second round of questioning. Likely that Tharoor will be entangled the next few days over more than just India Shastra.
