No polyjuice potion, just an editing error turned Emma Watson into Emma Roberts in Harry Potter Reunion

‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’ surely cast the accio spell, summoning up nostalgia for all the fans of the beloved series, as it transported them back to the very beginning of young Potter’s journey. As Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) walked down the memory lane, and talked about how the series shaped their lives, archival photos and videos of the the trio’s filming days and younger years were shared in the documentary film, and fans were quick to noticed something very curious.

The Internet pointed out that one of Emma Watson’s archival photos used in the HBO Max’s film, was actually actress Emma Roberts’ childhood picture. Roberts had shared that photo on her Instagram timeline in 2012, in which she is seen wearing Mickey Mouse ears and sitting at a dinner table.

A fan shared a screenshot of the Harry Potter anniversary film with the wrong picture of Emma Watson, along with the Instagram post of ‘Scream Queens’ actress Roberts, and the internet had a lot of say about this mistake.






The producers of the anniversary special eventually confirmed that no polyjuice potion is to be blamed for this goof-up, but it was just an editing mistake.

In a statement released by the producers of ‘Return to Hogwarts’, they said, "Well spotted Harry Potter fans!...You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly."

Fans can watch the Harry Potter reunion special on HBO Max. The special episode also features other Harry Potter actors like Helena Bonham Carter, Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Matthew Lewis, Mark Williams, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, and Evanna.

The movie also paid a touching tribute to the late actors who played iconic characters in this series like Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) and Richard Harris (Professor Albus Dumbledore).
