No paying back: Khloe Kardashian reveals how the Kardashian sisters split costs to keep family drama free

According to Khloe, the answer is no. Speaking directly to viewers, she explained that the Kardashian sisters do not track expenses digitally or chase one another for repayments. Instead, they follow an informal system of taking turns.
“Me and my sisters do not Venmo each other,” Khloe said in the video. “But we always take turns. I would never go with one of my sisters and expect them to always pay.”
Taking turns instead of keeping tabs
Khloe emphasised that the approach works because there is an unspoken understanding within the family. Each sister is mindful of what others spend and no one takes advantage of the situation.“We always rotate. It’s just never a thing,” she said, adding that everyone in the family is “really respectful” when it comes to money.
Her comments offer a rare glimpse into how one of the world’s most high profile families navigates everyday social dynamics, even when the sums involved are far larger than most people would encounter.
A real life example from school runs
To illustrate how the system works in practice, Khloe shared an anecdote involving her children’s school. She explained that all the Kardashian siblings and their children attend the same school, where Fridays involve buying spirit wear from a small on campus shop that only accepts cash.In one instance, Khloe paid for items on behalf of her sister Kim Kardashian, who did not have cash at the time. Kim initially offered to reimburse her through her business manager, but Khloe declined.
“I didn’t get it back,” Khloe said, explaining that repayment was never expected.
Paying it forward, not paying it back
Rather than settling the cost directly, Khloe said the balance naturally evened out later when Kim offered to buy something for her in return. This, she explained, is how their system functions.“Later she’s like, let me buy this for you since you got me that stuff,” Khloe said. “We’re always aware of someone else spending money. We don’t take advantage.”
Khloe went on to describe the family’s approach as surprisingly ordinary, noting that despite their wealth, the principle remains rooted in mutual respect rather than calculation.
While many families rely on apps and reminders to keep finances fair, Khloe’s comments suggest that the Kardashians prefer an honour based approach. There is no digital ledger and no awkward follow ups, just an expectation that generosity will be returned in time.
As Khloe put it in her YouTube video, when it comes to splitting costs, the family is “dare I say, normal in that regard.”
