An HR professional from Delhi left her high-flying corporate job to shift in Goa – reveals reason in viral post
An MBA, that too from the prestigious Xavier Institute of Management, would typically lead to a better-paying job. But for one HR professional in Delhi, completing her MBA did not bring a new job, but caused her to leave her high-paying job in Delhi and move to Goa instead – not for another job or to have a vacation, but to find a home where she could discover what she wanted from life and find her people. Taking to Instagram, Arpita Sahu filmed herself at Goa airport and revealed what made her quit her HR job in Delhi and come to Goa. “I left my corporate job after working hard for four and a half years, finished my MBA and am now moving to Goa. Most people travel here with their friends and family, but I am moving here. I have the same questions every time I go to a new city – whether I can find a place where I can find purpose and call home and find my people…. Until that happens, I'm going to keep searching. I'm going to keep looking in every corner of the world," she said.

She concluded the video with a timeless message: “For every person who is trying to find their purpose or their person, please do not stop. I think every failure leads us closer to that place, that person that is meant for us.”

However, adjusting to this new phase has also brought its share of worries. In another Instagram video, Sahu spoke about the uneasiness she experienced on her first Monday without the obligation of reporting to work. Her primary concerns include financial instability, especially the uncertainty surrounding how long her savings will support her without a steady income.

Walking away from a secure job has also forced her to adapt to an unfamiliar lifestyle without the predictability of traditional employment.

She further explained that an unspoken expectation to succeed was weighing on her, while the money in her bank account felt insufficient to sustain her for an extended period. She also noticed a decline in her ability to concentrate, finding it difficult to watch anything without reaching for her phone to check Instagram, browse posts, and monitor her follower count.

According to her LinkedIn account, Arpita has worked as an HR professional for Cognizant and Info Edge India Ltd. She holds an MBA in Human Resources from Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar and a BTech in Information Technology from Veer Surendra Sai University Of Technology
