No garden stone! Sanjay Lalbhai's museum in tribute to his grandfather opens in February
Some build hospitals, others lay garden stones, but Arvind Ltd chairman, Sanjay Lalbhai chose to build a museum to honour his late grandfather, Kasturbhai Lalbhai, in Ahmedabad.

Sanjay and his wife Jayshree spent the last few years working towards ensuring that the building’s restoration was on track and sourcing art works for it. Spread over two buildings, visitors can expect to view paintings from Persian, Mughal, Deccan, Pahari and Rajasthani schools, Tibetan Thangkas, modernist paintings from the Bengal school and painted postcards from pre-independent India. Art in stone, metal, wood and Bidri are also a major highlight. While the family is hosting a private tour of the museum for near and dear ones this month, it will be open to the public by mid-February.
