No destination wedding for Akshay Kanoria, Shreya Seksaria

Akshay Kanoria got engaged to Shreya Seksaria recently in Mumbai after a courtship of about three years. A few days ago, Akshay asked the all-important question to Shreya during an elaborate date at a Mumbai five-star, followed by a roka ceremony over the weekend.

Both come from prominent business families. Akshay, a Wharton graduate, is the son of Saket Kanoria, the MD of TCPL, a major packaging firm. Akshay’s aunt is Sangita Jindal.

Shreya, who studied at the University of the Arts in London, is Kishore Biyani’s niece. She works in an architecture and interior design firm. Akshay works in his father’s company.

The wedding is expected to take place around Holi in Mumbai. Unlike what is probably on all couples’ wish list, they don’t want a destination wedding, since most of their friends and family are in India’s commercial capital.
