No acting debut for Aryan! Shah Rukh Khan's son reportedly refused Karan Johar’s offer to launch him

Aryan Khan is reportedly not interested in facing the camera.

Although the 25-year-old bears a striking resemblance to his father Shah Rukh, Khan has no inclination to don the grease paint.

For years, Bollywood fans have debated whether or not Aryan Khan would walk in the footsteps of his mega-star father. Khan seemed to have put all rumours to rest by refusing Karan Johar’s offer to launch him.


According to a Bollywood Hungama report, KJo, who is known to be the biggest starkid launchpad in the industry had approached Khan with acting offers thrice. However each time he was rejected.

The report quoted a source saying, “It started as a very serious offer. When Karan offered to launch Aryan, and Aryan said no, Karan thought, ‘Bachcha hai, ghar ki baat hai, aa jayega line pe (he’s a kid, it’s a family matter, he’ll come around).’ But then Aryan kept saying no again and again.”

The source also revealed that Johar had now stopped offering films to Khan. Khan is determined to be a filmmaker and has zero interest in acting. “Now, Karan Johar has stopped suggesting it (a star launch) even as a joke. Aryan wants to be a filmmaker. Despite his looks, he is not interested in acting.”

According to reports, Khan was also approached by Zoya Akhtar. The ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ director offered to star him in her upcoming Netflix movie ‘The Archies’. However, Khan responded with a firm no.

Netizens are lauding Khan’s decision. One Redditor commented, “Smartest thing one can do. He will be definitely compared to SRK and when even his colleagues and peers can't even match that he is nowhere in line.”

The report stated that Suhana will be the only next-gen actor from the Khan family. She is all set to debut with Akhtar’s rendition of the popular comics Archie. ‘The Archies’ will be released on the OTT platform.
