NMACC Day 2: Akash Ambani’s wife Shloka Mehta flaunts baby bump; Varun Dhawan faces flak for lifting and twirling Gigi Hadid

Akash Ambani and wife, Shloka Mehta, are expecting their second child.

The would-be mom was seen flaunting her baby bump on the second day of the launch of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

Taking to Instagram, makeup artist Puneet B Saini shared some pictures of the Ambani bahu cradling her baby bump with a proud smile. Mehta looked radiant in an olive green, printed halter top with cream-coloured leaf patterns and an intricately embroidered, white, lacy lehenga skirt. She teamed the ensemble with a fancy headpiece and a dewy, no-makeup look!


Saini, who was in charge of her makeup for the event, wrote, “Radiant and Beautiful… Mom-to-be… The most Lovely Shloka for Today’s @nmacc.india Event.”

The NMACC launch was a starry affair with many A-listers, both from Bollywood and Hollywood, in attendance. ‘Spiderman-Man: No way From Home’ duo, Tom Holland and Zendaya, were on the guest list. Other high-profile international attendees included model Gigi Hadid, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and her husband Nick Jonas. Several top celebrities from B'wood such as Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan, were also seen at the event.

Some desi celebrities also put up an electrifying live performance for the guests. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan treated the audience with a live performance of his hit song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ from the blockbuster spy thriller ‘Pathaan’. He was later joined by actors Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan. SRK also shook a leg to the Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Dhawan made news for the wrong reasons when a video clip of him lifting Hadid went viral on social media.
In the clip, Hadid is shown making her way to the stage when the ‘Main Tera Hero’ star is seen intercepting her, lifting her in his arms, and twirling her. Dhawan also gives her a peck on the cheek. Many netizens have called the ‘Badlapur’ star for being handsy with the model and described the gesture as “embarrassing” and cringe. One Twitter user wrote, “This needs to be scripted or else it's f***ing weird. This man needs to stop lifting people like this and kissing.” Another commented, “She will never come to India after this.”

Later, Dhawan hit back at detractors, and claimed that the on-stage interaction with Hadid was 'planned'. The model also confirmed Dhawan's statement, and gave him a shoutout on Instagram, thanking him for "making her Bollywood dreams come true."
