Nishad Yusuf death: Editor of Suriya’s Kanguva and Mammootty’s Bazooka found dead in Kochi flat

Acclaimed film editor Nishad Yusuf was discovered dead in his apartment in Panampilly Nagar during the early hours of Wednesday. The tragic incident took place around 2 a.m., according to police reports. Authorities suspect it to be a case of suicide, according to a Press Trust of India report, though they have not disclosed additional details as the investigation is still underway.

Nishad Yusuf was a prominent figure in the Malayalam film industry, known for his exceptional editing work. He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Editor in 2022 for his outstanding contribution to the film Thallumaala. His diverse filmography includes notable projects such as Chaaver, Unda, Saudi Vellakka, One, Operation Java, and Thallumaala, cementing his reputation as a master craftsman behind the scenes.

Even in the months leading up to his death, Yusuf remained active in the industry. He was involved in two high-profile projects: Bazooka, featuring Mammootty, and Kanguva, a Tamil film starring Suriya. Both films are set to release soon, with Kanguva scheduled to hit theaters on November 14.
