Country singer Nicole Taylor was given three months to live when her breast cancer returned. But she carried on traveling, working and enjoying life. Taylor Red, the singer, died on September 28 at the age of 35, almost a year after she was diagnosed. On November 2, her triplet sisters, Nika and Natalie Taylor, announced her death and shared details of her last year and how she fought the illness.

“We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of our sister Nicole Taylor,” Nika said in an emotional video. “We honestly thought she’d be healed here on earth, but now she’s healed in heaven.”

Nicole Taylor's breast cancer diagnosis and treatment

In 2022, Nicole was diagnosed with aggressive, stage three breast cancer. Her sisters said they were shocked at the news, particularly as they had enjoyed good health all their lives.

Natalie remembered falling apart when she heard the diagnosis. But Nicole responded with faith and determination.

“I remember Nicole just said, ‘God’s going to use this for his glory,’” Natalie recalled.

Nicole kept exercising during her chemotherapy, even doing crossfit. She was initially well and was eventually found to have no evidence of disease.

However, the cancer later progressed to stage four. After undergoing treatment again, Nicole received an even more serious prognosis. Her doctors gave her about three months to live, though they could not say for sure how much time any treatment could add.

How Nicole spent her final days after the prognosis

The news was devastating, but Nicole tried to carry on with her normal life instead of living in fear. According to her sisters, she continued to travel, work hard and find time for fun.

“She tried not to live in fear, remained really hopeful. She traveled, she tried to live life, she worked really hard, she tried to have fun,” Natalie said.

Nicole lived for around another year after receiving the three-month prognosis. Her sisters said she encouraged them to have fun and avoid spending their time worrying about the future.

Her faith also remained an important source of strength. Natalie recalled a church service shortly after the diagnosis when Nicole was prayed over. She said her sister experienced a sense of peace that stayed with her throughout her illness.
