Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift in a Twitter war over MTV VMA nominations
The two singers have become involved in a public disagreement over the latter's lack of a MTV Video Music Award nod in the video of the year category.

The 2015 VMA nominations were announced with Swift earning a total of nine nods (five in the professional categories), including video of the year for "Bad Blood".
Minaj was also nominated for multiple awards, including best female video and best hip-hop video for "Anaconda," but felt slighted by her lack of a video of the year nod, reported Ace Showbiz.
Shortly after the full nominees were announced, Minaj took to Twitter to express her disappointment, and somehow ended up having a Twitter spat with one of the coveted award's nominees, Swift.
Minaj tweeted:
If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year ??????????????????????????
— NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015 The 25-year-old songstress responded:
@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..
— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) July 21, 2015 Seemingly confused by Swift's comment, Minaj wrote back,
Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13
— NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015 She further wrote: @taylorswift13 I'm still confused as to why u just tweeted me when I made it abundantly clear... pic.twitter.com/A5kJyi6fQC
— NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015 Both Minaj and Swift later attempted to end the online argument. The former then made it clear that she didn't mean to offend anyone when she ranted about the snub.
Nothing I said had to do with Taylor. So what jabs? White media and their tactics. So sad. That's what they want. https://t.co/AfcwoyDvpg
— NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015 Despite the Video of the Year snub, Minaj's "Anaconda" is still up for multiple awards at the VMAs, which this year is held on August 30. It's nominated for Best Female Video and Best Hip-Hop Video.
Minaj is additionally featured in Best Collaboration category for Jessie J and Ariana Grande's "Bang Bang".
