Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s daughter’s name revealed & it has an Indian connection

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed a baby girl almost three months ago, and although fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates on the little bundle of joy, her parents have been very careful in sharing information about her, guiding her privacy diligently and keeping her away from the prying cameras of the paparazzi.
However, according to a TMZ report, a birth certificate of the baby obtained by the outlet says that she has been named Malti Marie by her celebrity parents. The document also reveals that she was born in San Diego on January 15 after 8 pm.

The name Malti Marie honours both Chopra and Jonas’s cultural heritage. Malti is an Indian name, and a nod to Chopra’s mom, as the ‘Barfi’ star’s mother’s full name is Madhumalti Chopra. The name has a Sanskrit origin and means a ‘fragrant flower’ or the ‘moonlight’.
The child will have both her parents’ surnames, which makes her full name to be Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
The 39-year-old actress who tied the knot with the ‘Sucker’ singer in 2018 announced the exciting news of their baby’s arrival in January, this year.

“We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much,” a joint statement shared via Instagram read.
As the announcement suggests the couple had requested their fans to give them ‘privacy’ during their 'special time'. While the ‘Baywatch’ star, and ‘This Is Heaven’ singer have been busy on parents duties, they also have several work commitments lined up this year.
