Newlywed Queenie Singh parties with Mumbai pals

When society darling and jewellery designer Queenie Singh wed her beau of two years, businessman Rishi Sethia, in a surprise and intimate wedding on July 25, it was the talk of the town. The two got married aboard a luxury yacht in St Tropez, France.

This week, the married couple brought the party closer home, as they celebrated with a get-together for friends at a pal’s apartment in south Mumbai on Tuesday evening. "It was a party hosted by our friends Kiran and Anil Agarwal.

There will be one more party in Delhi on September 5, which will be hosted by a friend, Priya Kakkar. That one is for all my Delhi pals," says Singh, who was busy saying her goodbyes to near and dear ones right up till Wednesday afternoon. "The evening was all about celebrating with close ones, and not about fulfilling any social need as such," she says about the private function.

Singh revealed that the party was high on energy and upbeat. "All my friends who matter were there. My kids were there too. Everyone wished us love and happiness. I don’t know if I was emotional or not, but I had a great time," she says with a laugh.

In between the revelry, Singh was also busy working. "It’s wonderful to be working. The season just begins for me and I have a line-up of exhibitions, all of which I’m looking forward to," she says. Among the guests, who dropped by to wish the married couple, were Sushmita Sen, Sangita Bijlani, Malaika Arora Khan, Rhea Pillai, Madhoo Shah, Kabir Bedi, sisters Aditi and Arzoo Gowitrikar and Mika. Some of them participated in karaoke sessions late into the night. Singh was previously married to entrepreneur Raja Dhody while Sethia was married to actor and jewellery designer Neelam Kothari.
