September 2026 is set to bring a mix of new movies and returning shows to streaming platforms. From action-packed stories and crime dramas to comedies, thrillers and coming-of-age films, there is plenty for viewers to choose from. Several titles are also making their digital debut after theatrical runs, while some highly anticipated shows are returning with new seasons. Here are 10 movies and shows to watch out for on OTT in September 2026.

Gandhari – Netflix

Gandhari will premiere on Netflix on September 3, 2026. The film stars Taapsee Pannu, Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Jatin Sarna. Set in a fictional town called Joypurra, the story follows Bani, a mother whose devotion is tested by a series of difficult situations. She is forced to face challenges that push her towards sacrifice and determination.


The Gentlemen Season 2 – Netflix

The Gentlemen Season 2 will arrive on Netflix on September 3. The crime comedy-drama, created by Guy Ritchie, continues the story of aristocrat Eddie and the unusual criminal world surrounding his family's estate. The show combines crime, dark humour and high-stakes situations as its characters attempt to protect their interests.

Dhamaal 4 – Netflix

Dhamaal 4 is expected to release on Netflix on September 4. The comedy stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Jaaved Jaaferi, along with Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Esha Gupta. The film revolves around a group of people who go looking for treasure, only to find themselves caught in one chaotic situation after another.

Unmadham – SonyLIV

The Malayalam film Unmadham will stream on SonyLIV from September 4, 2026. It stars Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose in the lead roles. The story follows Shelly, a frustrated civil police officer who also dreams of becoming a screenwriter. While searching for an idea for his script, he decides to reopen an old case involving the mysterious death of a young woman.

Korean Kanakaraju – Netflix

​​Korean Kanakaraju is reportedly set to premiere on Netflix on September 4, 2026, although an official announcement from the makers and the streaming platform is still awaited. The horror comedy stars Varun Tej, Ritika Nayak and Satya in key roles. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film had a decent theatrical run and will now look to reach a wider audience through streaming.

The Revolutionaries – Prime Video

The Revolutionaries will premiere on Prime Video on September 11. The period action thriller stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Gurfateh Pirzada and Pratibha Ranta, among others. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the series is set during the British rule in India and follows a group of young revolutionaries who choose armed resistance in their fight for freedom.

Ghamasaan – ZEE5

Ghamasaan will premiere on ZEE5 on September 11, 2026. The gritty crime drama is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and stars Arshad Warsi, Pratik Gandhi and Ishita Dutta. The film revolves around power, politics and survival, placing its characters in a world where personal interests and political ambitions collide.

The Scandal – Netflix

The Scandal will release on Netflix on September 18. The series is set in the Joseon era and draws inspiration from Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' famous 18th-century French novel Les Liaisons dangereuses. The story promises a dangerous romance filled with attraction, secrets and manipulation against the backdrop of historical Korea.

Unabomber – Netflix

Unabomber is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 25. The thriller is inspired by the real-life case of Theodore John Kaczynski, better known as the Unabomber. The series stars Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley. Kaczynski, a mathematics prodigy who later became known for his domestic terrorism campaign, has been the subject of several books and screen adaptations.

Don't Be Shy – Prime Video

Don't Be Shy will stream on Prime Video on September 25. The coming-of-age film stars Aarushi Bajaj, Piyush Khati, Bianca Arora and Ansh Duggal. It follows 20-year-old Shyamili 'Shy' Das, whose carefully planned life changes after she enters college. As she experiences friendship, first love and unexpected twists, Shy has to deal with a life that no longer follows the plan she had made for herself.
