New forms of ingesting cocoa come in vogue to cut both flab and costs
Every year, alarm bells go off about the imminent shortage of cocoa, thanks to reasons both natural and man-made. The effect on a world that is becoming increasingly addicted to the nectar of the gods is predictable: surrender to the inevitability of rising prices and thoughts of how to get that chocolate fix without burning a hole in the pocket. Hence the rise of the trend of chocolate snorting should be seen as inevitable.

If the addictive powder becomes as hard to obtain as some distinctly unsavoury and dangerous alternatives, then consuming it in the same way to get that crucial kick is entirely probable. That this form of chocolate consumption has been around for half a decade is less known but certainly testifies to the fact that some had anticipated chocolate’s increasing scarcity and begun to prime the market for a new consumption technique.

And the advent of an invention now that allows for the cocoa fix minus the calories can only lead to a rise in such ingestion practices, particularly since it is touted to allow the snorter to subtly ‘experience chocolate’ for a few hours without actually eating it. Considering even e-cigarettes are not without side effect, this could be the alternative that unites weight watchers and anti-addiction campaigners, and yet leaves consumers feeling deliciously sinful.
