New Cartier watch mesmerises with jiggling diamonds

Cartier has created ripples in the world of haute horlogerie by unveiling its newest jewellery setting. Christened the Serti Vibrant, the new mechanism allows the dazzling stones to shimmer on the dial of its latest Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch.

The diamond-studded dial shakes to give slight movement to the 123 vibrant diamonds, equalling 3.46 carats, creating a rippling effect. Though the watch is powered by calibre 430 MC, it's the unique setting that brings life to this time-telling device.

The 42 mm Ballon de Cartier Serti Vibrant watch boasts of rhodiumised 18K white gold case set with 210 brilliantcut diamonds equalling 3.38 carats. The bluedsteel sword-shaped hands also add timely motion on the face of the watch.

The fluted crown set with a sapphire cabochon is a distinctive touch. The watch costs $2,50,000 (Rs 1.54 crore approx.).
