After months of therapy and coaching, the individual decided to leave the corporate world, convinced that it wasn’t the right fit for them. However, three months later, they still find themselves uncertain about their future. Feeling lost, they are considering a career outside of the corporate sector but are held back by fear and a sense of inadequacy. The constant societal pressure to live up to the expectations of having an IIM degree has further drained their confidence, leaving them questioning their abilities. They are contemplating pursuing a less prestigious job, but the shame of admitting their struggles, especially in light of their IIM background, weighs heavily on them. In a bid to reset their life, they are seeking advice from others on how to regain direction and make a successful comeback.
In response, several suggestions were made to help the individual regain confidence and find a path forward. First, it was recommended that they focus on the root cause of their struggles—whether it’s a lack of self-confidence or an introverted personality. One option was to engage in volunteer work, particularly with NGOs, as a way to develop public speaking and interpersonal skills. Another suggestion was to explore hobbies like writing, music, gaming, or drawing.
Another person recommended exploring stress-relief techniques which include relaxation, breathing exercises and meditation, which are said to help individuals manage stress, boost confidence, and improve clarity of thought.
