LOS ANGELES: Netflix is planning to revive the beloved cult comedy " Arrested Development" for a fifth season.

The series, which was canceled by Fox in 2006, might be back for another season if the negotiations fall in place, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"We are plugging along," Sarandos said. "It's a very long complex deal to make for these guys both because the talent is very busy and working on other shows, but also because the show is owned by Fox.

"It is our intent to have a new season of Arrested Development. All the negotiations are underway," the streaming service's chief content officer Ted Sarandos said.

Actress Jessica Walter, best known for her role as Lucille Bluth on the sitcom, recently teased that if the series returns, it would explore the aftermath of Buster ( Tony Hale) being arrested for the murder of Lucille 2 ( Liza Minnelli), whose body was seen at the bottom of the staircase with blood splotches around it.

"We can't say who did it yet. He's been arrested, but I can tell you we're not sure, who really did it," Walter said.
