Alakh Pandey, CEO of Physics Wallah has voiced his concerns about the NEET UG 2024 results, which was announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday, revealing that 67 students secured All India Rank 1. A major concern among many aspirants has been regarding the limited number of seats in top medical colleges. As several students scored 719 or 718 out of 720, further concerns came to light about the scoring process since marks are awarded on a +4 and -1 basis. However, the NTA explained that grace marks were added to the scores.

Speaking on these concerns in an Instagram video, during an interview, Pandey stated, "Despite achieving full scores, many students will not be able to secure admission to AIIMS Delhi. The exam pattern is unusual, with 69 students scoring 720, but AIIMS Delhi has limited seats."

Pandey further added, "For the first time, students have scored 718 marks, which is not possible given the +4 and -1 scoring system." He emphasized the need for more seats in government medical colleges.

Physics Wallah Student Secures Top Rank in NEET UG 2024

Over 24 lakh students appeared for this major medical entrance exam. Soon after the results were announced, reactions from students and coaching experts celebrating their success flooded social media.

On the same day, Pandey posted another video on Instagram, claiming that one of the NEET toppers studied at his institute. In this video, he expressed his excitement, saying, "Now say that you can't get results from studying online," while celebrating the achievement of his student. This video also went viral. The official Instagram handle of Physics Wallah also shared this sentiment in a post, emphasizing the success of online learning.

The NEET UG 2024 results will be used by various Central and State Government entities for admissions, adhering to their respective eligibility criteria and regulations. Additionally, the results will be utilized for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses and for admissions to BVSc & AH courses under the 15% quota of the Veterinary Council of India in recognized veterinary colleges.

This wave of high scores and the subsequent concerns raised highlight the pressing need for more seats in government medical colleges to accommodate the growing number of high-achieving students.
