NBA players chill with Neil deGrasse Tyson for some star talk
What do NBA basketball players do when in New York City? The Philadelphia 76ers went to the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium to meet famed astronomer Neil deGrasse Tyson. Head coach Brett Brown reached out to the Star Talk host about visiting the planetarium.

What did the team do?
They watched the standard 25-minute presentation, and then spent an hour or so in a town hall style discussion. Power forward Elton Brand served as team spokesman, posing the players’ questions to Tyson.

What kind of questions?
Small forward and self-described astronomy fan Hollis Thompson said, “Quantum mechanics versus Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. He talked to us about literally about how vast the universe is, what we know, what we don’t know about the universe, dark matter, anti-matter, tons of stuff.”.
