Lady Superstar, aka Nayanthara, has been in the spotlight for more than one reason this week. While fans are buzzing about the intense first look of her upcoming Malayalam spy thriller Patriot, the actor also made headlines for a quiet, unexpected late-night outing during her recent vacation in Dubai. What began as a simple craving turned into a moment that left restaurant staff pleasantly surprised.

The first-look poster of Patriot was unveiled today (January 25). The poster shows only half of Nayanthara’s face, draped in a saree, with a restrained yet powerful expression. The poster also carries the line “Dissent is patriotic,” hinting that the film will explore themes rooted in contemporary socio-political realities. The visual quickly caught attention online, with fans praising the actor’s understated intensity and choice of roles that push boundaries.

At the same time, Nayanthara was enjoying a break in Dubai, where she was joined by close friend and fellow actor Trisha Krishnan. Photos of the two stars vacationing together soon went viral, delighting fans who were thrilled to see the popular duo reunite off-screen. But amid the holiday updates, it was a low-key midnight visit to a restaurant that became an unexpected talking point.

A midnight craving that turned into a memorable moment

During her Dubai trip, Nayanthara decided to step out close to midnight with her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Sivan, to satisfy a specific craving. She walked into a Dubai-based restaurant around 12 am, hoping to enjoy its much-loved biryani.

However, the staff had some disappointing news to share. By the time the actor arrived, the biryani had already sold out. What followed, though, surprised those working there. Instead of leaving or expressing disappointment, Nayanthara chose to explore other items on the menu. The visit soon turned into a relaxed tasting session of several popular dishes, including grilled chicken, prawn preparations, traditional curries and seafood delicacies, served alongside parotta, appam, coconut rice and dessert.

Speaking about the experience, the restaurant’s manager later shared with Manorama Online that the actor genuinely enjoyed the food, particularly the fish curry. He noted that she appreciated the homestyle flavours and the simplicity of the dishes, making the interaction warm and memorable for the staff.
