Natwar Singh: More insidious than insider

With the storm he's managed to stir with his debut tome on the Gandhi family - more insidious than insider, if Mrs G's reaction is anything to go by - Natwar Singh has decided that why cause just a little discomfiture when he can manage much more.


More disclosures? "Many more," he's been purring as he weighs his next volley. Tentatively titled My Irregular Diary, we hear it is scheduled to hit bookstores by March next year.

While the prospect of another Natwar Singh book is the last thing the Gandhis wanted to brace for, we've learnt that it's even generating a state of preparedness in his publishers.

While the final edit of his first book was on, Singh offered to come down and go through it with the team. It started off with a request for a projector so he didn't have to peer at the tiny print and progressed to extended sessions with multiple snack breaks.

While the process did end up delaying the edit, by the end of it the publisher's office became something of a second home to Singh. With the sequel coming up, we just hope they had the foresight to have retained the recliner they arranged for his siesta sessions between editing duties.
