Reflecting on that memorable day, Sudha explained that Narayana’s eagerness to impress her father didn’t quite go as planned. “He arrived two hours late because his taxi broke down,” she recalled. “My father, who was very particular about time, was already asking me about what Narayana did and other things. And then he came in and started talking about his desire to join politics and open an orphanage. My father thought highly of me since not many women pursued engineering back then, so he wasn’t very impressed when Narayana showed up late, thinking he’d win him over.”
Narayana, joining the conversation, revealed his lighthearted attitude at the time. “I was a bit playful and even a bit adventurous. I thought, ‘Okay, let him be angry,’” he chuckled. He also shared his fond memories of meeting Sudha, calling her "a breath of fresh air" and appreciating her positivity and kindness. “She wanted a good listener, and I was happy to be that listener. It made both of us happy,” he added with a smile.
