The superstar also revealed that the hiatus had helped him appreciate movies from the audience’s point of view, rather than as an artist.
SRK is done experimenting with roles. During an ‘#AskSRK’ session, the superstar revealed that after spending over three decades in the industry, essaying various characters across the spectrum, he is content with his repertoire and now wants to concentrate on giving the audience what they want. Khan is basking in the success of his comeback venture, ‘Pathaan’.
Co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the espionage thriller is currently the highest-grossing Hindi film.
During his Q&A session on Twitter, ‘#AskSRK’, a fan asked him about his favourite genre, to which the ‘Baazigar’ star replied that he has no personal favourites as such nowadays, and is just focused on starring in films his fans would enjoy the most. “Now I like to play what I think people would like me to play... I have evolved as an actor I think. My personal likes are diminishing," he wrote.
The superstar also revealed that the hiatus had helped him appreciate movies from the audience’s point of view, rather than as an artist. Writing about his sabbatical, he stated, "I just sat at home and watched all the films that I could to become an audience again and not be a movie maker."
He also stated that he is not in a rush to sign new projects. Khan, who has been missing in action for the past five years or so, has three back-to-back releases in 2023. He will next be seen in Atlee’s action thriller ‘Jawan’ which will also mark the Bollywood debut of Tamil superstar Nayanthara.
Aside from this, he will also be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy ‘Dunki’ opposite Taapsee Pannu. Khan stated that he is committed to these projects and will not sign new ones until they are completed. “I haven't really started listening to scripts yet. Want to sit back and enjoy the release of these two films and then decide,” he tweeted.
