My mom is my fashion icon: Deepika Padukone

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone may be a style inspiration for many, including the brands she endorses. She recently unveiled a special texture collection for Vogue Eyewear, for which she played the muse. Whom does this stylista consider her icons then?

"My mother," responded Padukone. Her simple but classy style has impressed Padukone over the years, shaping her sensibilities. But the tables have turned now, she confesses. "When we go out shopping, my mother relies a lot on my opinion," she says.

As for playing muse for this limited edition collection, Padukone says, "There are certain things about my personality and those that the brand stands for that coincide. There is a marriage in that sense. It's about being young, feminine, fun, sporty."
