Dia Mirza on Monday took to Instagram to mourn the loss of her niece, Tanya Kakde, who passed away in a car accident in Hyderabad recently. The Bollywood actress shared a picture of her niece and captioned it with an emotional message.

The 40-year-old model-turned-actress wrote in her tribute: "My niece. My child. My jaan. Gone into the light. May you find peace and love wherever you are my darling ... you always brought a smile to our hearts and the higher realms will be filled with more light with you dancing, smiling and singing. Om Shanti." She added a yellow heart emoticon, a tiger one and a folded hands emoji.

A make-up artist by profession, the 21-year-old Kakde was the stepdaughter of Telangana Congress leader Feroz Khan. According to The Times of India, she died in the early hours of Monday after the car she was travelling in met with an accident on NH 44. The car was being driven by her friend Mirza Ali, and the trio were returning from Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) airport to the city.

"The sunroof of the car was open. When the vehicle overturned, Tanya suffered a severe head injury. She also sustained a severe injury in her right hand. Tanya was rushed to Osmania General Hospital for treatment, but she was declared brought dead by doctors," RGI airport inspector R Srivinas told The Times of India.

The actress found support and solidarity from her industry friends. Susanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, Gaurav Kapur, Bhavana Panday, Gauahar Khan and Rahul Dev were among those who mourned the loss.
