Music, tech and STEM: Madhuri Dixit talks about her children's paths far away from acting

Madhuri Dixit has opened a window into her family life, revealing how her sons have carved paths far from the glitz of Bollywood. While the actress has been a household name for decades, her children have chosen careers rooted in creativity and technology. Her elder son, Arin, born in 2003, has embraced music alongside computer science, now working on projects at Apple. Younger son Ryan, born in 2005, is focused on STEM, pursuing engineering and technology at USC, showing that talent and ambition can thrive outside the film industry.

In an interview with Mid-Day, the actress shared that her eldest son, Arin, briefly considered acting but discovered a deeper passion for music, producing his own work and complementing it with a strong academic foundation in computer science. Ryan, on the other hand, has no interest in films, immersing himself in science, technology, and mathematics at USC. The Dil To Pagal Hai actress emphasises that she never pressured them toward acting; their choices were entirely their own, and she respected their preferences every step of the way.

Madhuri Dixit's marriage and kids

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, a Padma Shri awardee, married cardiovascular surgeon Shriram Nene from Los Angeles, California, and spent over a decade in Denver before returning to Mumbai in 2011. She welcomed Arin on 17 March 2003, followed by Ryan on 8 March 2005.

Mrs Deshpande is an Indian crime thriller series streaming on Jio Hotstar, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. It is adapted from the acclaimed French miniseries La Mante. The series features Madhuri Dixit in the lead role as the serial killer Mrs. Deshpande. Siddharth Chandekar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, and Diksha Juneja play key supporting roles.
