A video that shows a distressed Faruqui, losing his cool, after a restaurant owner pelts eggs at him has gone viral on social media. The video was shared on Instagram by paparazzo Viral Bhayani. Faruqui had visited the restaurant to celebrate Iftar. In the video, a security guard is shown to be holding him back as he looks ready to throw hands at the culprits. The eatery is located at Mumbai’s Mohammed Ali Road. According to reports, an FIR has been filed against the owner and his staff for the misdeed.

A Times Of India report claimed that despite agreeing to come to the restaurant for Iftar, the ‘Lock Upp’ winner had visited another eatery, thereby causing the owner to lose his temper.


A few weeks ago, the comedian was detained after the police conducted a surprise raid at a hookah parlour in Mumbai. However, he was soon released.

New Beginnings

Faruqui is all set to make his acting debut! The comedian-social media influencer will start his innings as an actor with the web series ‘First Copy’. On Wednesday, Faruqui took to Instagram and unveiled the teaser of the upcoming series.

From the one-minute, forty-three-second teaser, it looks like the movie is a period drama that takes you back to the ‘90s when DVDs were a rage. In a media interaction, the ‘BB17’ winner said, “Over the years, my fans have always stood by me and supported me in everything I have done. Hence, I wanted to present them with a special gift this year by announcing this project where they’ll witness a new side of me. I’m eager to see everyone’s response to it.”

Although the release date of the movie has not been announced yet, it is predicted to premiere on a renowned OTT platform soon. The series has been written and directed by Farhan P. Zamma, produced by Kurji Productions, and co-produced by Salt Media.
