Munawar Faruqui fan lands in trouble after filming comedian’s ‘Bigg Boss’ win celebration party with illegal drone camera

A Munawar Faruqui fan has run into trouble.

An FIR was lodged against a man who used an illegal drone to celebrate the stand-up comedian’s victory in the reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss 17’.

After winning the show, the comedian went to Dongri, where he was greeted by a legion of fans. In a video that has since gone viral, Faruqui is shown to be lifting his trophy high into the air, so that the crowd can see it.


According to a Free Press Journal report, a constable saw a huge crowd celebrating near Char Nal at 4:30 pm. He noticed an individual trying to capture the festivities through a drone camera. The fan, a 26-year-old man named Arbaaz Yusuf Khan, admitted that he did not have the authorisation to operate the drone, following which, it was confiscated. An FIR was also filed against him for violating the rules against drone usage and endangering public safety.

The comedian was declared the winner on January 28. He walked away with a grand Rs 50 lakh cash prize, as well as a shiny trophy and swanky car.

This is not the first time Faruqui has won a reality TV show. In 2022, he stole the show and emerged victor in another reality TV show ‘Lock Upp’. The show was hosted by Bollywood ‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut.

Faruqui hails from Gujarat. Prior to becoming a full-time standup comedian, he worked in many menial jobs to make ends meet. He also ran a samosa business along with his family members.
