Moms — they’re your biggest fans and sharpest critics. And Sangita Jindal’s mother Urmila Kanoria is no different. The JSW Steel First Lady is a stickler for her diet and believes in healthy eating. But her mum begs to differ, insisting that the cook make at least “two sabzi dishes” when she’s visiting Jindal.

At a recent media meet at Jindal Mansion to mark the 30th anniversary of the Kanoria Centre of Arts, when tea and dry fruits were offered to guests, Kanoria pointed out that platters of samosas and jalebis should have been served instead. “People expect something nice to be offered in snacks when they visit big (read: well-to-do) houses,” she said.
