Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria at his fashionable best

We're used to seeing the Mumbai Police Commissioner in the khakhi uniform, so it was a delight to spot Rakesh Maria all suited up for National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's talk last week.

Clearly, Maria knows a thing or two in the style department. Sporting an all-aubergine suit and pants, he efficiently toned it down with a pale pink shirt and at the same time, instantly jazzed it up with a maroon pocket square tucked away into his jacket. Showing a penchant for taking the odd fashion risk, he ditched black to complete the ensemble with brown lace-up shoes and a matching belt. The best part? A 100-watt smile for the shutterbugs.
