Mukesh-Nita Ambani 40th wedding anniversary: Videos of magnificent, three-tier animal-themed cake go viral

A pastry shop in Mumbai recently spilled the beans on a special cake they baked for Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita’s 40th wedding anniversary. In a recent Instagram video, renowned pastry chef Bunty Mahajan, who owns the upscale Mumbai-based bakery Deliciae, unveiled a luxurious, custom-made cake designed for a special occasion. The elaborate confection was crafted in a gold and pink color scheme, drawing inspiration from Vantara, the wildlife conservation initiative spearheaded by Reliance.

The footage showcased Mahajan’s intricate masterpiece—a grand, multi-tiered cake adorned with meticulously sculpted animal figurines, all coated in a shimmering gold finish. At the very top, gilded leaves surrounded two gracefully posed elephants holding a decorative sign inscribed with the words, "Happy Anniversary, Dear Nita and Mukesh."

Each tier of the cake carried a unique design element, with certain layers featuring gold-accented zebra and tiger stripes, while others displayed golden blades of grass interspersed with lifelike representations of lions, giraffes, and crocodiles. The central tier prominently bore embossed initials “N” and “M,” signifying the names of the celebrated couple.


Mahajan disclosed that this grand confection weighed more than 30 kilograms and was conceptualized to reflect the essence of Vantara, a sanctuary dedicated to the rehabilitation and care of rescued animals, established in Jamnagar by Reliance.

She further noted that Nita Ambani, who leads the Reliance Foundation—the philanthropic division of Reliance Industries—was instrumental in championing the project. In addition to her significant role at the foundation, Nita Ambani also serves as the driving force behind the prestigious Dhirubhai Ambani International School, which is consistently ranked among the world’s top educational institutions. Moreover, in 2023, she inaugurated the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, a state-of-the-art venue celebrating the arts and cultural heritage of India.

Initially envisioning a cake solely in shades of white and gold, Mahajan later incorporated hues of pink into the design, knowing it to be a favorite color of Nita Ambani. Despite the complexity of the project, she expressed satisfaction in overcoming the challenges associated with its execution. Her dedication and craftsmanship were met with immense appreciation from the Ambani family, who lauded the artistry and attention to detail evident in the final product.

Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani exchanged wedding vows on March 8, 1985, and over the years, they have emerged as two of India’s most influential personalities, shaping the nation’s business landscape and philanthropic efforts. Mukesh Ambani, who serves as the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, holds the distinction of being the wealthiest individual in Asia, leading one of the largest conglomerates in the world. Their enduring partnership, spanning nearly four decades, continues to be marked by remarkable achievements across various sectors.
