Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani's grandson, Prithvi, has reached his school-going age.

On Tuesday, the youngest Ambani heir was snapped by the shutterbugs in Mumbai during his first day at nursery school.

During his first public appearance, the one-year-and-three-month-old was accompanied by his parents - Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani. They dropped him off at the school gates, and later picked him up.

‘Educated in India’
The richest family in India unanimously decided to send the toddler to Sunflower School in Malabar Hill. The little one's parents also studied in the same school.

A source at the school said that Prithvi's parents wanted to ensure a grounded and safe environment for their son, and hence want their son to be educated in India.

The Ambanis left no stone unturned to ensure tight security with a discrete staff.

According to sources, while Prithvi is in school, security personnel will be present in civilian clothes and would be spread across the premises. Also, there will be a doctor accompanying him at all times to ensure his safety and well-being.

Since both Akash and Shloka are hands-on parents, they are investing time, energy and efforts in multiple areas of Prithvi’s life.

The school said it will treat Prithvi like any other child studying there. The baby boy joined his batchmates for half a day on Tuesday, as a gentle introduction to school life.

"The family is extremely determined to enable Prithvi to lead a ‘normal’ life which is so incredibly hard, being at the centre of national and international fascination as he is the grandson of Asia’s Richest Person and dubbed by his many fans, as the Prince of India," the source said.
