Mudit Dani, budding table tennis player, to participate in tournaments before taking the academic plunge
Come fall, Mudit Dani, son of Jalaj ( Asian Paints) and Vita Dani (co owner Chennaiyin FC), will begin his undergrad studies at New York University. However, before he takes the academic course, the youngster, who is a national level junior table tennis player, has decided to squeeze in two tournaments — the Edgeball International, Chicago, and World Junior Circuit, El Salvador — this month.

In a social media post recently, the youngster said that he intendeds to pursue TT while in New York too. He also shared a picture with three-time European champion and Olympian Daniela Dodean. “It’s not every tournament where your partner is a 3X Olympian and a European Championship Gold medalist!”

He was introduced to Dodean by fellow TT player and Dodean’s husband Joao Monteiro, with whom Dani sparred with and lost (4-0) in the Open Singles quarterfinal. Dani’s sportsman spirit came through well too, as he wrote — “...so much to learn from him [Monteiro] Congrats bro for winning the Championship!”
