MS Dhoni, CSK get an electrifying welcome in Surat as team arrives for IPL 2022

Ahead of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has taken the internet by storm. It was a sight to behold when the 40-year-old cricket icon arrived in Surat recently.

Dhoni, who has a massive fan following across the length and breadth of the country, witnessed a rousing welcome from his fans in Surat. The news of Dhoni in town spread like wildfire and the quaint streets of Surat turned jubilant. Scores of fans were seen on the streets to welcome Dhoni and other CSK stars.

A video shared by the official Twitter handle of CSK saw the bus of the team arrive in the city. Thousands of fans were seen waving and cheering for Dhoni’s team.


“Abhara Surat! Those eyes that smile with <heart emoji>give us the joy, everywhere we go!” tweeted the handle.

Despite heavy security, fans were seen following the bus on two-wheelers and cars just to catch a glimpse of the stars.

Another video shared by the team manager, Russel from inside the bus, showed fans waving at the bus. Men, women, children were seen waving at the movie bus. The Surat Police were finding it difficult to control the crowds.

Fans were seen cheering CSK and chanting ‘Dhoni’ when the team’s bus passed by them.
The team were in the town to start their preparations for the upcoming IPL 2022. The IPL 2022 will kick start with a CSK taking on Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 26.

The league will have 74 matches and the 2022 edition league stage will end on May 22. The final match will be played on May 29 for which the schedule is yet to be announced.
