Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico get hitched! The pair met at a beauty pageant in 2020.
They met as participants at a beauty pageant and sparks flew. Fast-forward two years, Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentina a.k.a. Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico respectively have now said “I do” to each other!
The lovebirds (now woman and wife!) first met at the 2020 Miss Grand International competition in Thailand. The duo represented Argentina and Puerto Rico respectively. They soon became thick as thieves and one date turned into several.
Valentina took to Instagram to share the news with her followers through an emotional post. "After deciding to keep our relationship private, we're opening up the doors to you on a special day,” she wrote in Spanish. Her post included a heart and a ring emoji. The post also had a video, showcasing some of the sappiest moments of the duo. The pair is shown cuddling, taking romantic walks on the beach, competing with each other for selfies, and even doing the mandatory ‘The Notebook’ pose by the beach! It also showed a mushy marriage proposal - with the pair posing with engagement rings in a room decked up with balloons and fairy-lights.
The video has now amassed more than 3 million views and 268,257 likes! Many well-wishers left their congratulations in the comments. Abena Akuaba, Ghanaian singer and beauty queen wrote, "Omg congratulations MGI brought together a beautiful union." Another Instagram user wrote, “congratulations!!! May you be very very happy." Another fan wrote, "Congratulations beautiful. God bless your union and long live love!"
Varela thanked her well-wishers for the love. “Thanks for all the love! We are very happy and blessed. I wish you that the love you are giving us is multiplied! Endless thanks,” wrote the beauty queen.
The pair who had been together for about two years tied the knot on October 28.
