Mrunal Thakur began her career in 2012 with television and, over the years, has carved her own niche in the entertainment industry. She first became a household name through popular TV shows before successfully transitioning to films. Apart from her professional achievements, the actress has also been in the news for a while due to wedding rumours linking her with Tamil superstar Dhanush. Putting all speculation to rest, Mrunal has now addressed both the rumours and her real thoughts on marriage.

Mrunal Thakur opens up about her marriage plans

In a recent interaction with Showshaa India, Mrunal revealed that conversations about her settling down have become quite frequent at home. She shared, while laughing, that in her parents’ imagination, wedding bells are always ringing.

Recalling a recent moment, she said, "In fact, last night my dad told me, ‘Now you need to get settled.’ And I said, ‘Why don’t you call your sister and ask if she knows a good guy for your daughter?’ He asked, ‘Where is the guy?’ And I said, ‘Exactly – where is the guy?’ If you’re asking me this, what should I say then? This is every household’s story."

The actress made it clear that she is not against the concept of an arranged marriage. In fact, she said she is open to it. However, she added humorously that there are simply no potential matches at the moment.

For Mrunal, the idea of marriage has evolved over time. Earlier, arranged marriages meant parents formally introducing two individuals. Today, she feels even friends setting people up counts as a form of arrangement. Ultimately, she believes the label doesn’t matter, what truly counts is whether two people genuinely connect.

She stressed that marriage should never be done just for the sake of it. Social pressure or age should not dictate such an important decision. According to her, compatibility is key, not just between the couple, but also between their families. She explained that marriage in India is often a union of two families, not just two individuals. If everyone is on the same page and there is mutual understanding, then moving forward makes sense.

What kind of guy Mrunal Thakur wants?

In an earlier conversation with YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, Mrunal had also spoken about the kind of partner she hopes to have. Since her profession makes it difficult to use dating apps, she said she values authenticity above all else.

"When it comes to Bollywood the ratio is one is to ten. For example people from my school or college days, I connect with them more somehow. There’s no pretending, there’s no facade. I don’t want to be with a guy who is full of himself," said Mrunal.

On the professional front, Mrunal continues to stay busy. Her latest film, Do Deewane Seher Mein, directed by Ravi Udyawar and co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, releases in theatres on February 20. She also has the action thriller Dacoit in the pipeline, featuring Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap, directed by Shaneil Deo. Stay tuned!
