Move over Patti Smith, here are other singers who fumbled on stage
The American singer forgot the lyrics to Bob Dylan’s 'A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall' at the Nobel Prize ceremony that honoured the icon.

Adele
Right song, wrong lyrics
During a concert in May in Lisbon, Portugal, the singer accidentally sang the wrong lyrics of her own song A million years ago and realised it only when the crowed pointed it out. The singer however laughed it off and said, “Should I sing with the lyrics right? I’m sorry.” The forgiving audience broke into applause.
Jessica Simpson
Cried at the concert
The pop singer was reduced to tears in Michigan in 2009 when she forgot the lyrics of two songs. Simpson was performing at the Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Arena and asked the band to restart the song, only to forget the lyrics of her second song as well. Simpson was trying to sing Shania Twain’s Whose bed have your boots been under and her own song You’re My Sunday. While fans cheered her on, the singer was unable to deal with it and walked off stage.
Pink
Ran out of words
The pop singer, who was performing her song Just give me a reason in 2015, went blank and started babbling in the middle of the song. Fans however pitched in and helped the singer complete the song. After the show, the 36-year-old musician wrote on Twitter — “I’m very weird!!! Belfast tonight!!! But you guys are so incredible! I’ll try to remember the words of the song, promise.”
