Motorola unveils new Moto G and Moto X, smartwatch

NEW DELHI: Motorola Mobility sees India as one of its biggest markets globally, a top executive said, as the company that would soon become part of the Lenovo group launches upgraded versions of its smartphones and a new smartwatch. “The Indian market is massive and tremendously important to us. We completely believe in what we are doing here.

Now, we are able to grow on the portfolio we have,” Senior Marketing Director Marcus Frost told ET on Friday. The company upgraded its smartphone portfolio with the launch of improved versions of the Moto G and Moto X smartphones. It is bringing these devices along with its first smartwatch, Moto 360, to India simultaneously with their global launches. Motorola has high ambitions from its new smartphones, Marcus said, and added that it will bring the next significant update of the Android operating system, Android L, to these new devices.

The latest Moto Gis available in the market starting Friday while the Moto X and the Moto 360 smartwatch will be available later this month.Marcus said the company has learnt a lot from the Moto G, which ran out of stock in the first couple of days of launch. “We corrected that instantly, which shows the might of Motorola at the background.”Danish.Khan
