Even if it is the city that you’re in love with, you can’t help but see its shortcomings. In a piece written for the Mumbai First newsletter, Morgan Stanley MD Ridham Desai confesses that Mumbai is his favourite city in the world for its “nice people, reliable weather save for occasional cloud bursts, great food, convenient time zone… significantly less crime”.

Yet the Morgan Stanley MD does have a wish list for the maximum city. Apart from hoping for better public transport and housing for all so that Mumbai is slum free, Desai says a big handicap is the lack of a green cover. “Mumbai’s green cover is about 1/30th of London and New York at about 12 square feet per person,” he writes. How can that change? Desai’s suggestions include keeping our city clean, using green technology and growing more trees. We couldn’t agree more.
