Moet Hennessy’s India MD Stephane de Meurville is obsessed with Roger Federer

Food, wine, interiors, music, sports … there are a number of things close to the heart of Stephane de Meurville, Moet Hennessy’s freshly appointed India MD. The 47-year-old Frenchman especially enjoys the mellifluous tennis of Roger Federer. "I met him once during the French Open and shook his hand. I was like a kid," he says animatedly during a meet and greet at a Mumbai rooftop bar.

Prior to his current job, De Meurville was posted in Montreal, Canada. "I’m happy to be here and avoid the winter in Canada," he says. "The temperature goes down to about – 20 degrees." The father of two is particular about fitness. He runs an hour a day and plays tennis whenever he can. And somewhere in his unpacked luggage is the latest iteration of the racquet model used by one Mr Federer.
