Mistaken identity: Shabana Azmi's 'Ek Doctor Ki Maut' Twitter gaffe!

The 1990 award-winning film by noted Bengali director Tapan Sinha, which depicts the ostracism, bureaucratic negligence, reprimand and insult of a doctor was based on Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay but yesteryears actress Shabana Azmi, who acted in the film did not know who this film was based on. She in her Twitter post mentioned it was based on J.C. Bose.

She was quick to notice her 'faux-pas' hence there was another tweet where she admitted her mistake. This was a classic case of mistaken identity. The 1990-film was critically acclaimed where Pankaj Kapoor played Dr. Dipankar Roy and Shabana Azmi played 'Seema'. Director Tapan Sinha won a national award for his direction.
