About Mirzapur

First announced in 2024, the Mirzapur film continues the legacy of one of India’s most loved crime sagas. The original series, which premiered on Prime Video in 2018, became a cult hit for its gritty storytelling around gang wars, politics, and family rivalries in small-town Uttar Pradesh. With powerhouse performances by Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu, the show earned a massive fan following.

The movie is being directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, with a scheduled theatrical release in 2026, followed by a digital premiere. Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, and Shweta Tripathi (as Golu) are all expected to return, making the big-screen debut of Mirzapur one of the most-awaited events in Indian cinema.
