Actress booked the wrong flight for solo trip and ended up meeting her future husband. Mirai star Shriya Saran shares how she met Anndrei Koscheev

Actress Shriya Saran and her husband Andrei Koscheev are often seen as one of the adorable celebrity couples. Whether it's through their affectionate photos or PDAs, they regularly share glimpses of their love and life together on social media. Recently, Shriya made headlines after appearing on The Great Indian Kapil Show with her Mirai co-stars. During the episode, she opened up about how she met her husband and shared their beautiful and fun love story, which quickly became a talking point among fans.

How Shriya Saran and Andrei love story began?

During the show, Shriya revealed that she met Andrei while on a solo trip to the South Maldives. Interestingly, she ended up there by mistake, having "booked the wrong flight for the wrong month". Instead of panicking, she decided to enjoy the moment and joined a cruise, where fate intervened. That’s where she met Andrei, and though they were complete strangers, they began going on scuba dives together. Their underwater adventures slowly turned into a connection, and as Shriya put it, that’s how their story began.

She also shared that the first film Andrei ever watched of hers was the intense thriller Drishyam. She said he was quite "scared" after watching it and admitted it wasn’t the introduction to her work that she had planned for him. But it clearly didn’t scare him away, if anything, it made him more curious about the world she comes from.

Today, the couple are parents to a daughter named Radha, and often share glimpses of their family life on social media. One of Shriya’s recent posts, a candid picture of the three of them captioned simply “Memories”, quickly went viral and received lots of love from fans for its warmth and simplicity.

Who is Andrei Koscheev?

For those unfamiliar with Andrei, he is a Russian entrepreneur who won the Best Young Entrepreneur Award in 2015, according to TOI. He holds a diploma in general management and also has a strong background in sports. In fact, Andrei has played national-level tennis and even competed against his brother, Nikita, on several occasions. Clearly, he brings both business acumen and athletic energy to the relationship.

Shriya once shared a sweet anecdote about Andrei's thoughtful nature. She recalled a time when he took her on a tour across St. Petersburg, carefully mapping out and showing her all the locations where she had filmed her 2004 movie Arjun with Mahesh Babu. She admitted she didn’t even remember many of the spots herself, but Andrei had researched and planned it all. Shriya described it as one of the most adorable gestures he had ever made.


On the professional front, Shriya Saran is currently enjoying the success of her latest fantasy action film Mirai, co-starring Teja Sajja. The film opened to strong box office numbers, crossing Rs 26 crores within just two days of release, as per Sacnilk.
