Never stop learning seems to be the mantra that Rostow Ravanan lives by. The CEO of Mindtree, who completed a three-month advanced management programme from Harvard in May 2015, says it was a transformational experience that helped him become a better leader. The Ivy-league school has been the playground of many honchos in the country.

“It transformed my perspective on things like corporate strategy and negotiations,” Ravanna told ETPanache.

“Earlier, I used to think about a problem till the time I found a solution and worked towards implementing it immediately. What was an eyeopener at HBS was learning that there can be multiple solutions to a single problem,” he said.

Armed with a set of new strategies, Ravanan says he’s become better at knowing how others learn, which he used to turn around internal training initiatives. Guess that’s what applied education looks like.
