Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella gets hero's welcome at home

Turns out that this is indeed the week of thunderous ovations and resounding claps. But NaMo at Madison Square Garden was not the only recipient of a deafening welcome.

Earlier this week, when Satya Nadella made his entry into the Microsoft office at Hyderabad, his first as the CEO, starstruck employees couldn’t stop putting their hands together.

There was some sort of collective swelling of chest and tearing of eyes, say co-workers in the know, causing pretty much the same effect that the PM had on the thronging NRIs. For Nadella, who is now somewhat of a pin-up hero, the weekend came as a respite from endless rounds of meetings and discussions.

He made a quick dash to his parents’ home and spent the day quietly with them.
