Indigenous mobile manufacturer Micromax had taken a leap of faith last year when they roped in Hugh Jackman as the brand ambassador. Not the kind of brand that ever devoted headspace or budgets for advertising, the gamble paid off.

Jackman has been more than generous to his Indian client, who was keen to shed off the 'cheap' tag and break the clutter of Indian stars endorsing a gamut of brands in the segment. Not only did the Wolverine star approve of the film script in 48 hours, he tweeted about the brand to his followers, grabbing eyeballs.

The company no doubt has been more than happy with the Hollywood star's professional ism. And the contract - one of the most expensive ones to have been signed by any Indian company in recent times - has been extended by another year.

The script for the next ad film is ready as well and from what we have heard; Jackman is likely to resume shooting for the new campaign very soon. Lessons for our difficult Bollywood stars?
